Warwick Insulation Test Lead 8mm - Type 2 Black & Red
During servicing and repair of Electric/ Hybrid vehicles there is a requirement to check the insulation resistance of high voltage cables and connectors in respect to the chassis ground. This ensures that the high voltage presents no danger to a vehicle user from voltage and current leakage to the chassis.
If you have ever tried to conduct these insulation tests on Electric or Hybrid vehicles or charging cables using probes or crocodile clips that don't fit or slip and struggle to stay on on contacts you will know how difficult and potentially unsafe this is.
To solve this issue Electro-PJP have designed a specific Insulation Test lead with an 8mm connection for CCS charge port connectors (may also be part of a Type 2/CCS combo connector), that are found on Electric and Hybrid vehicles. Using the EVF8 test lead an insulation test can be conducted on the DC+ and DC- pins of the CCS connector. When the EVF8 test lead is used in combination with the EVF6 6mm Test Lead insulation resistance can be measured between the centre protective earth pin of the Type 2 connector and the DC+ and DC- pins of the CCS connector.
Conduct insulation tests on 'high voltage' cables, connectors and charging cables using a CCS connector safely and reliably using a suitable insulation tester, such as the Fluke 1507 or other testers. This 8mm Test Lead connects to the CCS pins shown as OK below:
Rating: 1000V CAT III/ 600V CAT IV IEC61010;
Length: 150cm (custom lengths available subject to MoQ);
Colours: Red and Black.
Consists of:
Right angled banana plug to connect directly to an Insulation tester;
150cm PVC 0.75mm2 test cable;
Special socket to connect to 8mm type 2 connector pins.
EN/IEC 61010-031:2008 Standards:
600V CAT IV
1000V CAT III
